Mohit uses the situation to shift the attention from his behaviour towards his sisters behaviour because as a son Mohit is given more credibility  than his sister. In doing so, he gets her phone confiscated and sends a message to her that despite being wrong, he has more power. And  he can use his power to get her punished if she tries to hold Mohit accountable
