Mohit makes an effort to talk to his father since he is aware that doing so in secret will allow him to present his side of the story and put an end to the situation quietly without facing punishment. Mohit might also believe that, as a man, his father might have faced similar incidents when he was young. He tries to use this to his advantage to prove that it isn't a big of a deal as Supriya is making it to be.
